230 cal dessert

For dessert tonight, I mixed a crunchy chocolate fiber cereal with a fruity Greek yogurt. With only 230 calories, it was a tasty treat that can also be eaten for breakfast.

McDonald's to serve antibiotic-free food

This link is to an article about McDonald's efforts to make their food healthier. I'll give them some brownie points.

Leonord Nimoy's passing

The Sci-Fi world went into mourning 2 days ago when beloved Star Trek actor Leonard Nimoy (Spock) passed away from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

WHAT IS COPD?
When you breathe, air travels through tubes in your lungs—called airways—to millions of tiny air sacs. In a healthy lung, the airways are open and the air sacs fill up with air. Then the air goes quickly out.
COPD makes it hard to get air through the airways and into and out of the air sacs.
COPD includes two lung problems:
"Chronic bronchitis" is increased cough and mucus production caused by inflammation of the airways. Bronchitis is considered chronic (or long-term) if a person coughs and produces excess mucus most days during three months in a year, for two years in a row.
"Emphysema" is associated with damage of the air sacs and/or collapse of the smallest breathing tubes in the lungs. (COPD)
COPD is usually caused by smoking and second-hand smoke. If you smoke, I ask that you try and quit. If not for yourselves...then for those you love.
Leonard Nimoy's grandson is posting special shirts on Shop LLAP to benefit the COPD foundation.

Mr Nimoy, you will be missed. LLAP
