shampoo problem

Check your shampoo bottle label. I don't know WHY I didn't figure this out sooner! Its the shampoo I use in the shower! When I wash my hair, the shampoo runs down my whole body and (duh!) printed very clearly on the shampoo label is this warning, FOR EXTRA VOLUME AND BODY! NO wonder I have been gaining weight! I have gotten rid of that shampoo and I am going to start using Dawn dish soap instead. Their label reads, DISSOLVES FAT THAT IS OTHERWISE DIFFICULT TO REMOVE. Problem Solved!

100-Calorie Snacks

100-Calorie Snacks
  • 1/4 c 1% cottage cheese and 1 c sliced strawberries
  • 1 hard-boiled egg dipped in 1 Tbsp light ranch dressing
  • 1/2 c fat-free ice cream or frozen yogurt
  • 28 pistachios
  • 10 almonds or cashews
  • 1 large stalk celery stuffed with 1 Tbsp peanut butter
  • 1 slice whole wheat bread with 1 oz turkey breast
  • 1 oz mozzarella string cheese and 4 green olives
  • 1 c light yogurt
  • 1/2 oz baked tortilla chips with 2 Tbsp salsa
  • 1 fat-free chocolate pudding cup
  • 1/2 whole wheat bagel (4" diameter), toasted, with 1 Tbsp sugar-free jam
  • 1/2 c steamed soybeans (edamame)
  • 1 hard-boiled egg with 1/2 slice toasted wheat bread
  • 1 c chicken noodle soup with 2 saltine crackers
  • 1 small (4") whole wheat pita with 1 Tbsp hummus
  • 1 slice whole wheat bread with 1 oz sliced turkey breast and mustard
  • 1/2 c 1% cottage cheese with 1 c cherry tomatoes
  • 2 fig bars
  • 20 animal crackers
  • 1 c berries mixed with 2 Tbsp plain, nonfat yogurt
  • 3 to 4 c microwave air-popped popcorn (see package for calories per cup)

Extreme Couponing part 2

Being on a limited budget, it's sometimes difficult to eat healthy.  Most of the food that's good for us, costs more.  While watching TLC's Extreme Couponing, I took notes.  Today, I tried it for the first time.  I saved a little over 50% on my grocery bill. I think I did well for an amateur.

sneaky birthday

It's my daughter Chloe's 9th birthday.  She requested chicken tacos for dinner.  Since she doesn't like adding vegetables to her tacos (or any meals), so I cut cauliflower up into tiny pieces and mixed it in with the chicken.  She had no clue.  he he he he

Eagles' advice

Eaglets break through the shell by using their egg tooth, a pointed bump on the top of the beak. It can take from twelve to forty-eight hours to hatch after making the first break in the shell (pipping).  During this time, there is no help.  They have to do it on their own in order to succeed, or they die.
We need to look at our health and our lives in the same way.  No matter what, we have to do this for ourselves in order to succeed.  Yes, it is a stuggle and takes a long time.  We have to keep going if we want to live a healthy life.  Don't give up, because an unhealthy life can kill us.

NO MORE SODA

I have finally given up my addiction to soda, and I don't have anymore withdrawel headaches.  I've been drinking a lot of water, some of it with Mio Water Enhancer.  That stuff is great.  It's $4 a bottle, but it's enough for a case of water.  All you need is one squirt to give it flavor.  Unlike flavored water, it has no sodium, sugar, or calories.  I got all of them, they are great.

update

I know I haven't kept in touch with my blogging.  On February 18, Chloe and I were in a car accident.  We're very blessed and ok.  I had some burns that healed, now I'm working on the neck injury.  I'm also in the process of making the video for my Biggest Loser application.  I thought about having the surgery and did my research, but I'm deathy afraid to have it done.  I need to do something extreme if I want to be here for Chloe. 

I accomplished one of my goals today.  It's a little embarrassing, but I'm sharing it anyways.  I lost enough weight so I can clip my own toe nails.  To me, this is huge.

BL season 11 episode 5

Did any of you see Biggest Loser this week?  I just don't get some people.  Don wanted to go home with his brother so bad that he had Irene help sabotage the weigh in.  He should never had her do it, and she shouldn't have gone along with it.  If Dan and Don didn't want to be there, then they should have never applied.  There are some of us that WANT and NEED the help they are providing.  You know the saying, "you can't help those who aren't willing to help themselves".  And what was Irene thinking going along with it?  What if the vote was turned on her?  I thought she wants to be there.  She said she was doing it for her teammate.  If my teammate asked me to throw the weigh in, my reply would be, "sorry, baby, I'm here for me!"  Ok, I'm don't ranting now.

Update

Due to some chest pain, I ended up having minor heart surgery.  Turns out, my heart is perfectly healthy.  I'm still sore from having it done, but it gave me another reason to keep on my weightloss journey.  This whole thing scared my parents.  They went through this with their parents, which they expected with older people.  When this happened to me, they weren't prepared to go through this with one of their children.  When you are depressed, eating unhealthy, and not taking care of yourself...you think that you're only doing it to yourself, right?  Wrong!  You are hurting everyone who love you.  Chloe used to be an active little girl, but she has gotten used to the fact that Mommy isn't able to take her to the park and play.  I've made so many excuses on why we can't play outside.  Now, she's a little couch potato.  I realize that I've been hurting her too.  That's why I scheduled my walks so I can take them with her.  When she gets off the school bus, we go for a half hour walk.  On really cold Saturdays, we'll go to the mall or Walmart.  There, we'll walk for  couple hours.  We'll be making out our wishlist, she doesn't even realize we're exercising.  She just likes the fact we're doing something.  I'm not able to run around and play soccer with her just yet, but I'm heading in the right direction.  Chloe really wants video games.  With my tax return, I'm getting us Wii Fit/Sport.  That way we will have to get up and move to play them.  Whatever you do, just keep moving.  Everybody needs you to.  By the way, I've lost almost 50 pounds.
