Stuffed Cabbage Soup

Stuffed Cabbage Soup


Serves: 8

Total time: 40 min     Prep time: 5 min



6 cups chicken broth
1 lb ground round (lean ground beef)
12 lb pork sausage (lean, jimmy dean light works)
12 tsp allspice
12 tsps ground cumin
2 tsps paprika
diced onion
garlic cloves (minced)
carrot (grated)
1 head napa cabbage (shredded)
14 ozs diced tomatoes
1 cup tomato sauce
1 tbsp parsley (dried)
1 tsp dill (dried)
white rice (cooked)


1Heat large stock pot and begin to brown beef and pork. Add onion and carrot, salt and pepper to taste. Cook until meat and veggies are cooked through.
2Drain all fat from the pan.
3Add remaining spices, tomatoes and tomato sauce and bring to simmer.
4Add cabbage and stir well.
5Simmer soup 30 minutes or more.
6Serve soup as is or with a scoop of cooked white rice in the bowl.
